HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2025-081 Ranking of Firms for CEI Services SE Drainage Phase 2RESOLUTION NO. 2025-081 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RANKING OF CONSULTING FIRMS THAT RESPONDED TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) NO. 25-008, “CONSTRUCTION, ENGINEERING AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR SOUTHEAST DRAINAGE PROJECT, PHASE II”, AND SELECTING METRIC ENGINEERING, INC. AS THE FIRST PLACE FIRM; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach is engaged in construction for the Southeast Drainage Project to improve the drainage in the Southeast area of the City by implementing comprehensive infrastructure improvements; and WHEREAS, the City’s Public Services Department determined that since there is Federal funding associated with the project through the Hazardous Mitigation Grant Program, the City must use an engineer to provide Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) services (the “Services”) separate from the engineering firm that designed the project; and WHEREAS, a City Selection Committee (the “Committee”) was formed to develop a scope of work, solicit and evaluate proposals from firms experienced in this specialized work and the City issued Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2025-008, on March 5, 2025; and WHEREAS, qualified responses were received from four firms on April 14, 2025, evaluated by the Committee, and the ranking of the thee top firms were as follows: CONSULTANT SCORE RANK Metric Engineering, Inc. 283 1 Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc. 273 2 R.J. Behar & Company, Inc. 271 3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above “Whereas” clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Commission accepts the ranking of the consulting firms responding to RFQ No. 2025-008, entitled “Construction, Engineering and inspection services for Southeast Drainage Project, Phase II”, as provided above. 2 RESOLUTION #2025-081 Section 3. That the proper City officials are authorized to negotiate an agreement with Metric Engineering, Inc. If negotiations are unsuccessful, the City can proceed with the next highest ranked respondent, until the list is exhausted or a contract is negotiated consistent with the terms of the RFQ. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5. That this Resolution shall be effective 10 days after passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED on May 27, 2025. Motion by Vice Mayor Salvino, second by Commissioner Rimoli.
