DANIA BEACH CITY COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2014 – 7:00 P.M.
ANY PERSON WHO DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE WITH REGARD TO ANY MATTER CONSIDERED AT THIS
MEETING OR HEARING WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDING, AND FOR SUCH PURPOSE MAY NEED TO ENSURE
THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF THE PROCEEDING IS MADE WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY AND EVIDENCE
UPON WHICH THE APPEAL IS TO BE BASED.
LOBBYIST REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. PRIOR TO ENGAGING IN ANY LOBBYING ACTIVITIES, WHETHER OR NOT
COMPENSATION IS PAID OR RECEIVED IN CONNECTION WITH THOSE ACTIVITIES, EACH LOBBYIST SHALL FILE WITH THE
CITY CLERK AN ANNUAL REGISTRATION STATEMENT AND PAY AN ANNUAL ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00)

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT, PERSONS NEEDING ASSISTANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN
ANY OF THESE PROCEEDINGS SHOULD CONTACT THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE, 100 W. DANIA BEACH BOULEVARD, DANIA
BEACH, FL 33004, (954) 924-6800 EXTENSION 3624, AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE MEETING.

7.6 RESOLUTION NO. 2014-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH
FLORIDA, SUBMITTING A REQUEST TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF GRIFFIN
ROAD IN CONNECTION WITH THE SAINT PATRICK’S DAY SPECIAL EVENT TO BE
HELD AT THE FIELD RESTAURANT LOCATED AT 3281 GRIFFIN ROAD IN THE CITY
ON MARCH 17, 2014; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
RESOLUTION NO. 2014-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH FLORIDA, SUBMITTING A REQUEST TO THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF GRIFFIN ROAD IN CONNECTION WITH
THE SAINT PATRICK’S DAY SPECIAL EVENT TO BE HELD AT THE
FIELD RESTAURANT LOCATED AT 3281 GRIFFIN ROAD IN THE CITY
ON MARCH 17, 2014; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dania Beach, Florida encourages
events that promote the community and bring people together in celebration; and
WHEREAS, the Field Restaurant has received City Commission approval to conduct its
annual Saint Patrick’s Day special event on Monday, March 17, 2014, and the restaurant has
requested the support of the City in its request to the Florida Department of Transportation to
close a portion of a lane on Griffin Road to enhance public safety; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is willing to support the lane closure request;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing “Whereas clauses” are true and correct and are made a
part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission submits this request for a temporary closure of
a portion of Griffin Road in connection with the event described above. A certified copy of this
Resolution is to be submitted to the Florida Department of Transportation to complete the
temporary closure application process. The City Manager, Robert Baldwin and Assistant City
Manager, Colin Donnelly, are authorized and directed to execute all documents pertinent to the
request. The subject portion of the roadway is identified in the prior year’s (2013) “Temporary
Closing of State Road Permit” application, and a copy of the current (2014) permit form
executed on behalf of the City are attached and incorporated into this Resolution by this
reference.
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
