REGULAR MEETING MINUTES TUESDAY, MAY, 13, 2025 – 6:00 P.M. 1. Call to Order/Roll Call
Chair Davis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Chair: Joyce L. Davis
Vice-Chair: Marco A. Salvino, Sr.
Board Members: Lori Lewellen Luis Rimoli A. J. Ryan, IC Executive Director: Candido Sosa-Cruz
City Attorney: Eve Boutsis

3.1 Administrative Report
Executive Director Sosa-Cruz advised the residents that there are 50 remaining trees from the Arbor Day giveaway. Residents may pick up an oak tree at the PATCH.
Director Chen presented his administrative report that was provided to the Board in their packets.
He touched on the following topics: - Commercial façade grant - Home beautification program
- Safe at Home program
- Rebuilding together - The PATCH o Harvest celebration o Grant from Spirit Airlines
- Summer Fresh Food Box Program

CRA Business Manager Krystal Permanan provided the economic development report which touched on the following topics:
- Visit Lauderdale - Marketing at the Casino at Dania Beach for visitors - Business retention - Business attraction
- New businesses
Mayor Davis acknowledged Krystal and her service to the City. She wished her best wishes in her future endeavors.

There were no presentations. 5. Consent Agenda
5.1 Minutes: April 8, 2025 CRA Board Meeting 5.2 Travel Requests: None.
Board Member Lewellen made a motion to approve the consent agenda. The motion was seconded by Vice Chair Salvino which carried unanimously on voice vote. 6. Proposals and Bids
There were no proposals on this agenda.
7. Discussion and Possible Action There were no discussion and possible action items.
8. Information Items There were no information items.
9. Board Member Comments
Board member Lewellen thanked Krystal for what she has done for the city, and she spoke about Visit Lauderdale and that the city should follow up.
City Manager Garcia said they spoke to Nannette, and Visit Lauderdale completed the $50k and
staff can have them come and do a report on what they did. She wished Krystal the best going forward. Board member Rimoli thanked Krystal for all her contributions to the city. He wished her
nothing but success. He thanked Director Chen for the May 8th event and for the volunteers that
came out for the rebuilding together event.

There was some discussion regarding a Dania Beach app for visitors to use to look for
restaurants and Director Chen commented that he has not received any proposals for Dania
Beach. Executive Director Sosa-Cruz commented that the app was going to be too expensive, and the return on investment was not worth it at this time.
Board member Ryan wished Krystal well in her future endeavors. Chair Davis thanked Krystal and spoke about Visit Lauderdale.
Vice Chair Salvino thanked Krystal for her contributions, and said she is always welcome back.
Chair Davis thanked the CRA board and said that it was great to stand beside them on Arbor Day. She is glad they are directed to the PATCH to pick up the left-over trees. She was thankful for all that is being done.
10. Adjournment Chair Davis adjourned the meeting at 6:27 p.m.
