II. Public Comments – None
III. Minutes: Approval of Minutes –
September 12, 2016‐ Approved First Ms. Bonnie Carlton Second Ms. Murillo
IV. Old Business
‐ Teacher and Employee of The Year Program; discussed the fact that the educational committee cannot handle anything
in a form of money, donations or collect gift certificate form local business.
‐ Volunteer advertisement should be forwarded to Ms. Lottier to be posted on the City website.
V. New Business
‐Teacher and Employee of The Year Program‐ To enhance the appreciation award with a plaque and gift certificate or a
luncheon the committee suggested to invite representative from the Kiwanis and the Dania Beach Lions Club to assist
in collecting contributions.
‐ Mr. Webster shared the SMART Update. He also discussed of different events; Young Voiced Matter, Broward Reading
in the City, Read For The Record, Debates in High School and Middle schools, Mayor Chess Challenge.
‐EAB suggesting to host a Mayor Chess Challenge in the City of Dania Beach.
‐EAB discussed the January meeting and decided to move it to Monday, January 9, 2017.
‐ School representatives from Dania Elementary, Collins Elementary and Olsen Middle School shared some of their school
events highlights.
Dania Elementary: PTO Trunks Our Tree Event, Movie Night‐Fridays, Math Night‐ Carnival Theme, Harvest Drive, Haiti Relief.
Collins Elementary: Fall festival was a big success, Spectacular fun house, Harvest Drive, December 1st – Tree Light
Ceremony.
Olsen Middle School: Fall Festival November 19th – 5K run.
