I. Call to Order
II. Public Comments
III Approval of Minutes: Feb. 6, 2016 – Moved and seconded--approved.
IV. Old Business
Teacher and Employee of the Year Program – EAB obtain quotes and wording for
plaques; schedule presentation to the City Commission requesting funding.
Mayors Chess Challenge – Mr. Webster advised that Mayor Ryan from Sunrise is
a good contact.
V. New Business
Mr. Webster shared information on the SMART Initiative; invited EAB to attend
one regional meeting over five years; District 1 meeting to be held at 5:30 pm at
South Broward HS 4/20; 4/5 is Caliber Awards at BC CVB; early enrollment is
through 3/21; need e-mail and website for Head-start Program.
VI. Member Comments
Dania Elementary – FSA testing completed for 4th and 5th graders; FSAA for kids
with disabilities will be one on one; BSA results are back from District—4th grade
reading and math and 5th grade math are high; third grade reading and math and
5th grade language arts are low; STEM Night in February was a success;
kindergarten round-up scheduled for 3/7; STEM Club, Art Club, Soccer Club and
Chorus are free of charge; dual language program for kindergarteners being
discussed; coming soon: Book Fair, Relay for Life and Autism Fundraiser.
