APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion was made by David Nuby, Jr. to approve the August 21, 2013 minutes of the Planning
& Zoning Board and was seconded by Rae Sandler. Motion passed unanimously.
BOARD ITEMS
1) VA-36-13: The applicant, Corey O’Gorman, AICP, with The Urban Group, on behalf of the
property owner Luis and Claudia Arguelles, is requesting a variance for a side setback
requirement for mechanical equipment for a property located at 818 NW 13th Avenue.
City Planner, Mariluz Maldanado made presentation and recommends approval.
The applicant, Corey O’Gorman, AICP, with The Urban Group, made presentation for the above
request.
Board Member, Randy Wright asked the size of the concrete slab. Mr. O’Gorman said the pads
are 4’ X 4’ and are gable mounted.
Motion was made by Rae Sandler to approve item VA-36-13 for variance and was seconded by
David Nuby, Jr. Motion passed unanimously.
ANY PERSON WHO DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE BY THE PLANNING AND ZONING ADVISORY BOARD WITH REGARD TO ANY MATTER CONSIDERED AT THIS MEETING OR

3) PL-30-13: The applicant, James McLaughlin P.E., on behalf of the property owner Carol Potvin,
is requesting to plat the property located at 4401 SW 30th Avenue.
City Planner, Mariluz Maldanado made presentation and recommends approval.
Jerry McLaughlin, McLaughlin Engineering, 400 NE Third Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale. Board
Member Wright asked Mr. McLaughlin his plan to for the property for as it is a narrow lot for
four homes. Mr. McLaughlin said that it is a large piece of property and this is the first step in the
process. Board Member, Rae Sandler asked if the property is in the sound mitigation area and
has a restricted use.
Motion was made by David Nuby, Jr. to approve item PL-30-13 for plat and was seconded by
Derrick Hankerson. Motion passed unanimously.
