HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1994-131RESOLUTION NO. 131-94 A RESOLUTION OF THE CIry OF DANIA, FLORIDA, AS REQUTRED BY THE Crry CHARTER AND SECTION 200.065, FLORIDA STATUTES, APPROVINC THE MILLACE RATE NECESSARY TO BE LEVIED FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1994-95 AND REPEALINC ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDINC FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Dania, Florida, Section 200.065, Florida Statutes, require that the City Commission shall, by Resolution, adopt an annual budgel determine the amount of millage necessary to be levied and publish the budget so adopted, together with a notice stating the time and place where objections thereto will be heard; and WHEREAS, the annual budget of the City of Dania was tentatively approved and adopted by the City Commission on September 12, 1994, and WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that in order to produce a sufficient sum to fund such a budget, it is necessary that a millage rate of 5.98 be levied against ad valorem valuation of property subject to taxation in the City of Dania; and WHEREAS, the "rolled back rate" as computed in accordance with the provisions of Section 200.065(1), Florida Statutes, is 5.768 mills; and WHEREAS, said proposed millage is 3.687" more than said "rolled back rate". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIry COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA: 1 FINAL MILLACE RESOLUTION (1 994-95) RESOLUTTON NO. 131-94 Section 'l . THAT there be and there is hereby levied upon all taxable property in the Ciry of Dania, Florida, both real and personal, save except the property designated as homestead property, in conformity with the Constitution of the State of Florida and statues declaratory thereof, a tax of $5.98 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation as the general municipal millage for the operating budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1994, and ending September 30, 1995, for the benefit of the Ceneral Fund of the City of Dania in payment of the budget estimate for the Ceneral Fund for said fiscal year. Section 2. THAT said millage rate is 3.680/" more than the "rolled back rate" as computed in accordance with the provisions of Section 200.065(1), Florida Statutes. Section 3. THAT the City Clerk-Auditor be and she is hereby directed to transmit and certify to the Broward County, Florida, Property Appraiser and the Broward Counry Florida, Revenue Collector and Department of Revenue, State of Florida, the amount of taxes herein levied. section 4. THAT all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5.
