A RESOLUTION OF THE CIry OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CIry MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN
APPLICATION FOR FUNDING UNDER THE FLORIDA
RECREATION DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR
TIGERTAIL PARK; DESIGNATING THE CIry MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNEE AS THE OFFICIAL LIAISON AGENT; CONFIRMING
THE AMOUNT OF FUNDS REQUESTED IN THE GRANT;
CONFIRMING THE TOTAL COST OF THE PROJECT;
CONFIRMING THE CITY'S RESPONSIBILITY TO DEVELOP,
OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE PROJECT; CONFIRMING THAT
THE CITY OFFERED ALL CITIZENS THE OPPORTUNIry TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE PLANNING PROCESS RELATIVE TO THE
ADOPTION OF THE RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE
ELEMENT; CONFIRMING rHE CITY'S ON-GO|NG CONCERN
FOR CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN PLANNING AND ELECTION
OF RECREATION PROJECTS; AND PROVIDING FoR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania, Florida, has prepared a grant application for
improvements to Tigertail Park under the Florida Recreation Development Assistance
Program; and
WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the application that this resolution be adopted and
become an official part of the application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the city manager is authorized to submit an application for funding
under the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program for the development of
Tigertail Park as an outdoor recreation area.
Section 2. That the city manager or his designee is hereby designated as the official
liaison agent and is authorized to execute all appropriate documents and contracts for the
purpose of administering the grant for the city.
Section 3. That the City of Dania is hereby requesting funds totaling $50,000.00 from
the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program.
Section 4. That the total cost of the project is estimated to be $50,000.00.
Section 5. That the City of Dania is fiscally and legally responsible to satisfactorily
develop, operate and maintain the project site in accordance with program requirements.
Section 6. That the City of Dania has an officially adopted local comprehensive plan,
including a recreation and open space element, pursuant to the local Government
Comprehensive Planning Act of 1 975 (Chapter '163.31 51 , F.S.), and all segments of the
public were offered an opportunity to participate in the planning process leading to adoption of
the document.
Section 7. That the City of Dania has an ongoing program of public participation
which encourages involvement by all segments of the population within its jurisdiction,
including minority and recreation projects.
Section 8. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
