HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1994-104City Clerk - Auditor APPROVED AS TO FORM & CORRECTNESS '2r.J (. a/4* July RESOLUTIONNO. 104-94 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, FORMALLY REQUESTING THAT COUNTY OWNED LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY ONE ACRE IN AREA AND LOCATED DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO BYRD PARK, BE GIVEN TO THE CITY OF DANIA FOR PARKS AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Gity of Dania has received a community Development Block Grant in the amount of $75,000.00 allocated for the purpose of making improvements to Byrd Park; and WHEREAS, a parcel of property owned by Broward county and consisting of approximately one acre in area is located directly adjacent to Byrd Park (see composite Exhibit "A" attached hereto); and WHEREAS, acquisition of this parcel of property would approximately double the size of Byrd Park as it now exists; and WHEREAS, Broward county Parks and Recreation Division has asked the city of Dania to make a formal request for transfer of said property' NowTHEREFoRE,BEITRESoLVEDBYTHECITYcoMMISSIoNoFTHECITYoF DANIA, FLORIDA: section .1. That the city commission of the city of Dania, Florida hereby formally requests that the property described in composite Exhibit "A" attached hereto be given by Broward County to the City of Dania to be used by the city for parks and recreational purposes.
