1. Dixie Highway Corridor Study.
Fire Department long range Capital lmprovement Proposal.
(A tour of Station 1 to follow the meeting with coffee and donuts
for the Commissioners and citizens who wish to take the tour)
Thomas Grammer, Fire Chief, explained that the Commission approved the
Fire Department's proposal for providing fire services to the Ravenswood Road
area, onJantary 73,7994, and that the Depanment is now submitting a long
range plan for the Capital Improvements to the Fire Department. Chief
Grammer advised that the savings and efficiencies achieved so far are even
greater than those hoped for in the first proposal and that the substantial
savings provided by integrating a two station depanment more than pays for all

John D. Thompson, P.E., Project Manager for the Florida Depanment of
Transportation, explained that FDOT has retained a consulting team to analyze
roadwry improvements that would benefit communities served by Dixie
Highway in South Broward County. Mr. Thompson advised that meetings are
being scheduled with community members in an effon to provide information
on proposed roadway improvements to US 1 and Dixie Highway between the
Dania Canal and Dania Beach Boulevard. Mr. Thompson presented potential
options under consideration and provided a newsletter with answers to
pertinent questions regarding the Corridor Planning and Design Study (CPDS).
Mr. Paul Cherry, Project Manager with Kimley Horn & Associates, was also
available to respond to questions regarding the project.
