1. Call To Order By Mayor Mikes

4. lnduction of new Commissioners by City Attorney Adler
City Attorney Adler presented the Oath of Office to Bill Hyde and John
Bertino who were elected into office on March 74, 1995.
5. Seating of Mayor, Vice-Mayor and Commissioners
Mayor Mikes stated that under the City Chaner the highest vote getter in the
election becomes Mayor and the second highest vote getter becomes Vice
Mayor. Bill Hyde was seated as Mayor and John Bertino was seated as Vice
Mayor.
6. Commission Comments
Commissioner Grace mentioned that Dania is a unique City where five
members of the Commission can come together with solutions that will benefit

all of the citizens of Dania. She urged the Commission to put personalities
aside and proceed with the business of the City.
Commissioner Mikes expressed his appreciation for being given the honor to
serve the City this past year as Mayor and congratulated Bill Hyde and John
Bertino on their re-election. He commented on his recent trip to Washington,
D.C. and how cities are entering into a very difficult financial time because of
state and federal mandates that may be imposed on municipalities.
Commissioner Jones commented on his fascination with Dania politics and
congratulated the new Commissioners. He expressed his appreciation for being
able to serve the citizens of Dania until his time to run again for office in two
years.
Vice Mayor Bertino expressed appreciation to his friends who were
instrumental in his being re-elected and thanked his mother inJaw, Bernadine,
his three children, and his wife, Barbara. He thanked the citizens of Dania for
allowing him the opportunity to serve for another four years.
Mayor Hyde thanked everyone in the City for their support and mentioned
that Dania had the second highest voter turnout in Broward County in the past
election. Mayor Hyde stated that Dania hx a very informed electorate and
people who care about the City. He introduced his mother and brother who
came from Brandon, Florida to be present for his installation as Mayor and
confirmed his desire to take the position very serious to serve the citizens of
Dania.
