1. Discussion and possible aoion regarding proposed Bass Pro Shop and

Road.
Citv Manager Flatley was pleased to rePort that Bass Pro Shops is inte-rested in

\(zill Allen, Growth Management Director, explained that the M4 zoning is
very flexible in this area but that the commercial retail use will require an
allocation of acreage for flex units that may need to be added to the Resolution.
The Commission agreed that the zoning change would require a public hearing
in the future. City Attorney Adler stated that the Commission can agree ro not
grant any flex use in the area until the project is approved.
Mayor Hyde read the following "Items For Consideration" into the record:
1) Use of Tigertail park facilities
. ljse of Tigenail park for access to the east across CSX tracks for
Tri-Rail and. IGFA Museum and enhancement of Tigenail Park;
e Possible use of lake for fishing demonstrarions;
. Permission to utilize fill from dredging of lake to provide road
bed for access road across CSX tracks for Tri-Rail and IGFA
Museum;
2)Identification
o Permission to allow Bass Pro Shops to rename the entire entiry as a
destination point, which would include the new access road and
Tigenail Park and to consider renaming Ravenswood Road.
'W'aiver of fees
. rVaiver of building permit fees for both the Bass Pro Shop and IGFA
Museum; estimated to be $207,000 for Bass Pro Shops and $45,OOO
for the IGFA Museum;
o \i?'aiver of Police and Fire Safety fees and Interim General Service
Fees approximately $35,000;

Acquisition of the 2 acres to the North bordering Griffin Road and
possible exchange with Broward County for the existing propeny
owned by the City of Dania in Vestlake, by trade or otherwise;
lJse of necessary flex units to build the necessary facility, subject to the
Public Hearing procedure.

Support of a kiosk for identification at the Dania - Ft. Lauderdale,
Hollywood International Airpon;
Vice Mayor Benino clarified that the City will be required to provide around
10o/o ofthe fill as mentioned in item 1 and that the excess fill can be sold to
cover cost of the dredging.
City Attorney Adler stated that he would make the necessary changes to the
Resolution as directed by the Commission and directed Mayor Hyde to sign
and date the paper outlining the "Items for Consideration" that will be made a
part of the Resolution.
Vice Mayor Bertino clarified with staff that the City does not have any
attachment on the Fire Safety Fees that are being waived.
A motion made by Commissioner Mikes, seconded by Commissioner Grace to
adopt rhe resolution urging the Bass Pro Shops and International Game Er Fish
Association (IGFA) Museum to locate in Broward County; supporting and
approving cenain "Items for Consideration" as set forth in this Resolution; and
encouraging Bass Pro and IGFA to work closely with the City who, in turn,
will facilitate their development in Broward County.
The motion passed on the following roll call vote:
