AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS ON

A RESOLUTION OF THE CIW OF DANIA, FLORIDA, AS
REQUTRED BY THE CITY CHARTER AND SECTTON 200.065,
FLORIDA STATUTES, APPROVING THE PROPOSED
MILLACE RATE NECESSARY TO BE LEVIED FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1995-95; AND PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARINC
WHEN OBJECTION THERETO WILL BE HEARD AND
QUESTTONS CONCERNTNC SAME W|LL BE ANSWERED;
AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF
RESOLUTIONS lN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDINc
FOR AN EFFECT'IVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Dania, Florida; requires that the City
Commission shall, bv Resolution. adopt an annual budgeg determine the amount of millage
necessary to be levied and publish the budget so adopted, together with a notice stating
the time and place rvhere objections thereto will be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the Ciry of Dania, Florida, has prepared and
submitted to the Citv Commission an annual report covering fte operation of the City and
has set forth therein an estimate of the expenditures and revenues of the City for the
ensuing year, beginning October 1,1995, and ending September 30, 1996, with sufficient
copies of such report and estimate being on file in the office of the City Clerk-Auditor so
that any interested party may obtain copies upon requesq and
WHEREAS, $e City Manager has presented to the City Commission detailed
information supporting such estimate, affording the City Commission a comprehensive
understanding of the City Covernment for the ensuing period, including expenditures for
corresponding items during the last tvvo fiscal years and increase and decrease demands

for the ensuing year as compared with corresponding appropriations for the lasi fis:ar Tear:

WHEREAS, the City Commission has met and carefully considered such annual
report and estimate for dre ensuing year and has determined and fixed the amount
necessary to carry on the government of *re City for the ensuing year and has prepared a
tentative budget setting forth dre amounts necessary to be raised for the various
departments of the City and has appropriated such amounts to the various departrnents of
the City considering dre applicable funds on hand and the estimated departmental
revenues; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that in order to produce a
sufficient sum to fund such tentative budge! it is necessary that a provisional millage of
6.28 be levied against ad valorem valuation of property subject to taxation in the City of
Dania; and
WHEREAS, tre "rolled back rate as computed in accordance with fre provisions of
Section 200.055(1), Florida Statutes, is 5.885 mills; and
WHEREAS, said proposed millage is 6.71o/o more than said "rolled back rate".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CIry
OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. THAT the proposed general municipal millage necessary to be levied
against ad valorem valuation of property subject to taxation in the City of Dania to produce
a sufficient sum, which, together with departmental revenue, will be adequate to pay dre
appropriations made in the tentative budget, are as follows:

Section 2. THAT said proposed millage rate is 6.71Yo more than the "rolled back
rate" as computed in accordance rvith the provisions of Section 200.065(1), Florida
Statutes.
Section 3. THAT the Ciw Commission of the City of Dania will meet in the Cit.v
Commission Room in the City Hall on Tuesday, September 26, 1995, at 7:30 p.m. for *re
purpose of adopting *re above stated millage rate and answering questions concerning
same. The City Manager shall specify dre purposes for which ad valorem tax revenues are
being increased, if any, over fre "rolled back rate". A notice of this public hearing shall be
published in strict compliance rvith the provisions of Section 200.065(2) (d) and Seaion
200.065(3), Florida Statutes.
Section 4. THAT all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed to dre extent of such conflict
Section 5. THAT *ris Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately
upon its passage and adoption.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF DANIA FLORIDA:
Section 1. THAT a tentative budget for the City of Dania, Florid4 for the fiscal year
beginning October 1, 1995, and endiirg September 30, 1996, is adopted (subject to the
public hearing for which provision is subsequently made herein). A copy of such tentative
budget is atAched hereto and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A" and the appropriations set
out therein are hereby made for the maintenance and carrying on of the Sovernment of the
City of Dani4 Florida, and for the purpose of paying debt service requirements, if any, of
said City for *re fiscal year beginning October 1 , 1995, and ending September 30, 1 995'
Section 2. THAT all delinquent taxes, collected as proceeds from levies of operating
millages for former years, be and the same are hereby specifically appropriated for the use
and benefit of the "General Fund".
Section 3. THAT the City Commission of the City of Dania will meet in the Clty
Commission Room in the City Hall on Tuesday, September 26, 1995, at 7:30 p.m. for the
purpose of finalizing said budget and answering questions concerning same. The City
Manager shall specif,v the purposes for which ad valorem tax revenues are being increased,
