SUBJECT: City Manager lnterviews
At the Workshop Meeting of September 5, 1995, the individual preferences of
Commission Members were tallied and the top six (6) candidates identified
and/or selected for interview on September 14, 1995.
The following schedule for interviewing those candidates is recommended:

The following suggestions/recommendations are made relative to the interview
schedule and format:
Mayor and Commission Members start interviews promptly at 7:00 P.M.
Limit interviews to thirty (30) minutes each.
It is recommended that the Mayor open each interview with the
introduction of Commission Members and then begin the interview
process, with questions asked in orderly fashion by Commission
Members.

4 Every effort should be made to ask the same questions of each
candidate, however, the tone and direction of the interviews usually
evolve out of the chemistry which develops between Commission
Members and each particular candidate.
Conduct the interview on a business-like basis, but relaxed enough to
develop a rapport with the candidates enabling them to do their best.
Keep notes on each candidate if it can be done without affecting your
focus on the candidate. lt is recommended that the Commission identify
and/or select the number 1, 2 and 3 candidate at the end of the interview
schedule on September 14th.
