Overthe past 11-112years I have performed in a wide variety of disciplines which have involved every aspect of Dania government. Some of my accomplishments in each area follows: Personnel: Served as President of South Florida Chapter, lnternational Personnel Management Association (Palm Beach, Broward, Dade & Monroe counties). Maintained excellent labor climate based on lairness and trust with few labor actions and minimal litigation. Labor Relations experience gained working with PBA, IAFF and AFSCME. Worked with City Manager to negotiate contract with BS0 for police services with savings of $500,000 in the first year. Participate in development ol City's annual budget Review vacancies on a continuous basis for opportunity to reclassify, combine or seek other viable alternatives such as parttime and/or contract services. Prod uced Employee IVlanual Started Employee Newsletter to improve organizational communication. Hiring accomplished through professional recruitment and selection methods. Developed safety program with labor and management that has significantly lowered City's loss ratio in area of workers' compensation. Assist insurance company and defense attorneys with investigations of liability claims and to limit liability exposure. Communily Development: 0btained and administered grants totaling $2,112,200 for roads, sidewalks, park improvements, street lighting, housing, recycling, food and nutrition, and afterschool care. lmplemented Community Service Program that has produced in excess of 10,000 hours offree labor to the City. lmplemented "City Spaces - Special Places Program" to encourage and channel individual and organizational contributions to City facilities and programs. Participated in organizing the City downtown redevelopment program and Community Redevelopment Agency. Ananged lor Florida lnternational University to conduct downtown study and citywide historic resource study at no cost to City. organized 3 downtown festivals without cost to City, lmplemented "Volunteer ln Progress Program" to recruit and utilize citizen volunteers in city programs. Work with City's Human Relations Board to develop comprehensive community service directory. Reorganized department to provide for more efficient customer seruice and improved program quality with reduced personnel expenses. Developed RFP for private operation ol Pier Restaurant and Bait shop. Worked with City of Hollywood to develop Beach cleaning agreement which resulted in 50% savings to the City for cost of this operation at Dania Beach.
