I was promoted to Captain in January of i993 by Sheriff Cochran. As Commander of Communications I oversee one of the largest Divisions in the Department of Crime Prevention. Currently we are allocated 124 personnel positions, with an operating budget of $5,690,000. Our primary function is to provide the initial contact for the public needing a police or fire rescue response and the communications link for the officers ofthe Sheriffs 10 Districts, 8 municipalities and several state & local agencies openting within Broward County. Provide leadership to a staff that has processed over 4 million calls with an almost flawless record of success. Played a significant part in the development and integmtion of the new 25 million dollar Broward County Communications Center. This assignments duties included the review of every component of the Broward Sheriffls Office to determine efficiency and compliance to agency standards.
