Dear Mayor Mikes and Commission Members:
The Housing Authority would like to go on record and congrahrate Broward
Sheriff's Office for their outstanding role as the law enforcemeat ageacy of record
for the City. The District II staff has worked diligently to bring quality hassle-free
law enforcement to DaniL The only people who are not happy witi BSO are the
crimiuals.
We have supported and will continue to support the outst rdiDg job done by
BSO in their law enforcement and ancillary code enforcement efforts in westem
Dania- Their professionalism, dedicatiou to cleaning up the drug riff-ratr that
detracts ftom an otherwise peacefirl comounity has been exemplary. They have
also been instrumental in pushing code erforcemetrt efforts on p,roperties being
used as crack houses. In a word their contribution to a better Dania has been
OUTSTANDINGI
The public housing residents I have spoken with are very satisfied with the high
level of service offered by Bro*ard Sheriffs Office personnel. Their policinSl
efforts ore aimed at putting police in contact with the people. In onr opinion tlat
is woddng effectively. We look forward to a continuing, positive relationship with
BSO.

On March 22th, 1994 Mayor Bob Mikes, Comm. Bill
Hyde, and Comm. John Bertino, voted against our
INTERLOCAL Agreement (County/City of Dania,Airport Runway Expansion) proposed by the County
Attorneys and our own SPECIAL AIRPORT Attorneys.
This agreement cost you the TAXPAYER over $100p00,00just to negociate. Minutes before the vote Comm. ("FLIP
FLOP") John Bertino stated that "this was the best
agreement that the city could hope for and the best
agreement any city in our situation has been offered
throughout the Country". He then proceeded to vote
against the agreement and you theTAXPAYER.
To keep our TAXES, WATER and SEWAGE rates from
skyrocketing, CALL Comm. John Bertino TODAY at
923-6198. Gll him to have City Manager Bob Flatley,
place this agreement on the agenda for V/EDNESDAY,
MARCH 30th, SPECIAL COMMISSION MEETING, fOT
