A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTON OF THE STORMWATER MASTER PLAN, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City engaged the services of Chen Moore and Associates, Inc (CMA)
to develop a citywide Stormwater Master Plan (SWMP); and
WHEREAS, the SWMP was developed over the past two years by analyzing flooding
data and information including data from historical rain events, city topography, existing
drainage systems as well the impact of their interconnectivity; and
WHEREAS, the master plan, which identified 10 vulnerable areas, was presented by
CMA to the City Administration and Commission on August 26, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the formal adoption of the SWMP by the City Commission is required to
proceed with the resulting projects’ identification, design and construction over the coming few
years to properly address the city’s stormwater challenges.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above “Whereas” clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission approves this resolution to adopt the
Stormwater Master Plan as presented at the August 26, 2025 commission meeting.
Section 3. That the Executive Summary to the Stormwater Master Plan is attached
as Exhibit “A” and made a part of this resolution by this reference.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall be effective 10 days after passage.
