1. Call to Order/Roll Call
Mayor Davis called the meeting to order at 10:12 a.m.
Present: Mayor: Joyce L. Davis Vice-Mayor: Marco A. Salvino, Sr. (via Video Conference)
Commissioners: Lori Lewellen
Luis Rimoli A. J. Ryan IV City Manager: Ana M. Garcia, ICMA-CM City Attorney: Eve Boutsis
2. Strategic Plan Session
City Manager Garcia commented that it has been five years since the first strategic planning
session and it has become a playbook for the City, from budgets, goals, strategy for Tallahassee and grants. She thanked everyone who assisted with preparation for today’s session. Mayor Davis echoed City Manager Garcia’s comments and said it has made a huge difference in
people being able to see tangible and delivered results around the city and she is glad to have
new perspectives with Commissioner Ryan and Commissioner Rimoli being present. Lyle Sumek, Lyle Sumek Associates, Inc., outlined the elements of strategic planning to be undertaken at today’s session.
Mr. Sumek and the Commission proceeded with the strategic plan session, utilizing a working document provided to the Commission, questions and answers, and discussion. Topics included Strategic Planning Model for Dania Beach, Strategic Planning 2021 – 2026 – 2036, Performance Report 2024, Looking to Dania Beach’s Future, Dania Beach Vision 2024, Dania Beach City
Government: Our Mission and Core Values, and Plan 2025 – 2030.
Meeting recessed at 12:44 p.m. and reconvened at 12:49 p.m. Mr. Sumek and the Commission continued with the strategic plan session, discussing topics
listed above.

Mr. Sumek noted he will get the results back to them this week, after which they will meet for one final session to determine the final action agenda.
3. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 3:22 p.m.
