I.Roll Call was taken, and the meeting was called to Order at 6:33PM EST
II.Minutes: Approval of minutes from November 19, 2025. Motion to approve by Stacy
Brown. Unanimous approval. No opposition
III.Reports and Discussion:(no new business)
IV.B.S.O. REPORTS
a.BSO will be attending 2.18.26 meeting.
i.Can Hollywood BSO do patrols?
V.OLD BUSINESS
a.FIND Grants for Waterway Cleanup (no new business)
b.BSO Substation (no new business)
c.Presentation for City Commissioners (no new business)
VI.NEW BUSINESS
a.Will need to vote on summer/holiday recess.
b.There is a vacant Marine Advisory Board Member position.
c.Pleased to have the upcoming dunes project and replenishment of the sand at Dania
Beach.
i.Would like to have input prior to this scope of work in the future.
d.Would like to invite representatives from other local marinas (surrounding cities) to
partake in the City of Dania Beach Marine Advisory Board Meeting to discuss how to
keep waste out of the marinas. Partner with and review best practices with surrounding
city marinas and address pollution
prevention/cleanup efforts.
i.Can Dania Beach Code Compliance enforce rules about marina pollution?
ii.Would like to partner with Floor Ocean (or other organizations) to do beach
cleanup and intercoastal cleaning.
iii.There is a beach group cleanup happening in March 2026. Can we have a
waterway cleanup?
1.We need boats to make this happen.
2.How often can we have this happen?
3.Can we set up a volunteer organization to routinely clean the waterway?
Can the Commission sponsor it?
iv.Plastic from the ships in the intercoastal continues to be major issue.
v.Would like to create a sea turtle conservation in Dania Beach.
1.A budget needs to be established.
2.Do we do this with volunteers?
3.The coyotes are a threat to the sea turtles. What can be done about that?
e.2.18.26 meeting will begin at 7:00pm EST due to a scheduling conflict. All members
agreed.
