A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING MODIFICATION NO. 7 TO THE HAZARD
MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM (HMGP) AGREEMENT WITH THE
FLORIDA DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (FDEM) FOR THE
POLICE SUBSTATION GENERATOR PROJECT (PROJECT NO. 4337-201-R;
CONTRACT NO. H0237) IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED
SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($264,000.00); PROVIDING FOR
AUTHORIZATION; PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission previously approved Resolution No. 2019-135
authorizing the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) Agreement with the Florida Division
of Emergency Management (FDEM), funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA), for the Police Substation Generator Project; and
WHEREAS, the original project funding consisted of a total project cost of $264,000.00,
including a federal share of $198,000.00 (75%) and a non-federal share of $66,000.00 (25%); and
WHEREAS, FEMA has approved an increase in the federal funding share to one hundred
percent (100%), resulting in full federal funding of the total project cost of $264,000.00 and
elimination of the required local match; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) has issued
Modification No. 7 reflecting the revised funding structure; and
WHEREAS, the modification includes Sub-Recipient Management Costs (SRMC) in the
amount of $13,200.00, which are fully federally funded; and
WHEREAS, the project remains a Global Match Project, whereby the non-federal share
is satisfied at the program level and no local financial contribution is required for this project; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of the City to approve
Modification No. 7 to the HMGP agreement to reduce the City’s financial obligation while
maintaining the approved project scope.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above “Whereas” clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.

Section 2. The City Commission hereby approves Modification No. 7 to the Hazard
Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) Agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency
Management (FDEM) for the Police Substation Generator Project.
Section 3. The proper City Officials are hereby authorized to execute Modification
No. 7, attached hereto as Exhibit “A,” and to take all actions necessary to implement the terms
and conditions of the agreement.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
