Summary of Proposed Ordinance
The city enacted an ordinance authorizing the naming of city facili�es, parks, etc. The person
nominated must undergo a background check to ensure no felony convic�ons or convic�ons of
crimes of moral turpitude. The ordinance is being amended to remove a Level 2 background check
requirement as the federal government (FBI) that does the Level 2 check cannot authorize the Leve 2

Not applicable. There is a cost associated with any renaming that is to be paid by applicant, but,
this ordinance does not affect the costs, other than to remove the Level 2 background check cost.
