Ryan City Manager Ana Garcia Subject: National Friends of the Library Proclamation - Friend of the Dania Beach Paul DeMaio Library We would like to THANK YOU ALL for giving is this acknowledgement of National Friends of the Library- As you are all aware, Friends ofthe Library provide vital services to the Residents, Visitors, and all who walk through our Dania Beach Library doors, FREE much needed access to classes both physical and instructional, including art, cultural, and musical events for all ages. Additionally, our library provides computer, copy services, fax access, research materials, librarian assistance, and with your very valuable Library Card, access to streaming services for music, movies, reserving books, videos, and other materials onllne. Libraries are no longer about "books" alone. Libraries are safe Community places for all to use during its open hours, quiet places for all to enjoy, to read newspapers, magazinet books on hand, and attend classes and events - all FREE. Our computers are available, for those who do not have access at home, or via cell phones. Libraries provide technology, not otherwise available ,and free when needed, Children's Storytime, and work application assistance for those in need. We encourage each and everyone of you to support our local Dania Beach Friends with your Membership, donations, and as possible , City Grant Opportunities or individual Commissioner donations from your discretionary funds. One last note, all our Friends funds received provide FREE programs that are N OY otherwise budgeted or funded by Broward County. Most importantly, none of our Board, Directors, or members are paid - we a re all Volunteersl Thank you for your acknowledgement of our importance to the Community and all the clients we serve.
