This October, that mission reaches Dania Beach through no-cost EPA-funded Brownfields Job Training for 20 residents. Prepare Industry-recognized environmental and safety credentials Credential HAZWOPER, CERT, Lead RRP, CPR/AED & more Connect Employer pathways and project site networks Deploy Residents ready to serve their community and careers 2016 – 2026 EEIC Community Impact Nearly a decade of hands-on work across Dania Beach and South Florida spanning environmental education, healthy and sustainable families, emergency preparedness, tree canopy expansion, food access, and workforce development. 2016–2020 Youth and family environmental education, gardens, and sustainability programming across South Florida. 2021–2024 Preparedness, CERT training, healthy homes, and first Brownfields Job Training cohorts delivered. 2025 247 event registrations, 41 CERT graduates, 4 tree canopy workshops, and 2 ZipGrow households equipped. 2026 2 BJT cohorts in Miami Gardens and West Park. Dania Beach cohort begins October 2026. 247 Event Registrations Across 9 EEIC events in 2025 4 Tree Canopy Workshops 70 reservations; 81 sign-ins 41 CERT Graduates 26 adults + 15 teens trained 2 BJT Cohorts Delivered Miami Gardens + West Park From Community Education to Resident Capacity EEIC converts public investment into lasting resident capacity. Two completed cohorts show the model at work. The pathway moves residents from education to employment-ready credentials through structured, community-centered training. Placement support continues and outcomes will be reported once confirmed. OCTOBER 16 – NOVEMBER 7, 2026 What Dania Beach Residents Receive This October Twenty Dania Beach residents will receive no-cost, EPA-funded environmental and safety training with a $400 completion stipend and direct connections to employers and environmental projects. Weekday and weekend sessions available to accommodate working adults. HAZWOPER 40 Hazardous waste operations and emergency response, the gold standard for site work Disaster Site Worker Qualified for debris management and post-disaster site operations Lead RRP Renovation, Repair & Painting, EPA-certified for lead-safe work practices CERT + CPR/AED Community Emergency Response Team and life-saving first aid credentials Soil & Water Sampling Environmental testing skills applicable to brownfields and stormwater projects Brownfields 101 + More Confined Space, Muck & Gut, and Brownfields site fundamentals included Train here. Resident credentials No-cost training gives residents portable safety and environmental credentials they can use beyond one class. Disaster readiness CERT, CPR/AED, and Disaster Site Worker strengthen household and neighborhood preparedness. Environmental know-how Soil/water sampling, HAZWOPER, lead-safe work, and Brownfields 101 build practical site awareness. Pathways to opportunity Employer connections and project-site exposure help translate training into real next steps.
