A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC SERVICES
DEPARTMENT TO PROCEED WITH THE BIDDING PROCESS FOR THE
DANIA COVE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach seeks to address drainage needs City-wide to
enhance safety, water quality and quality of life; and
WHEREAS, in March 2020, the Public Services Department engaged the services of
Calvin Giordano and Associates to design drainage improvements on the northern area of
Southwest 25th Avenue (Dania Cove Neighborhood), as well as provide bidding assistance and
project management services; and
WHEREAS, the project design recommends piping, inlets, a retention pond, roadway
regrading, and driveway improvements; and
WHEREAS, the design is complete and the bid documents will be developed in the
coming weeks in preparation to bid the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes staff to proceed with the
competitive bidding process for the Dania Cove Drainage Improvement Project with funds in an
estimated amount of One Hundred Twenty Three Thousand Dollars ($123,000.00) from account
number 403-38-01-538-63-10.
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on January 12, 2021.
