DANIA BEACH CITY COMMISSION
STRATEGIC PLAN SESSION
SATURDAY, JANUARY 9, 2021 - 10:00 AM
1. Call to Order/Roll Call
Mayor James called the meeting to order at 10:13 a.m.

City Manager Garcia thanked the Commission for participating in this important step in
formulating a strategic plan for the City.
Lyle Sumek, Lyle Sumek Associates, Inc., outlined the elements of strategic planning to be
undertaken at today's session.
Mr. Sumek and the Commission proceeded with the strategic plan session, utilizing a working
document provided to the Commission, questions and answers, and discussion. Topics included
Vision 2036, Our Mission, Our Core Values, Plan 2021-2026, Action Agenda 2021, and
Governance.
Mayor James recessed the meeting for lunch at 12:34 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at 1:19
p.m., with all present as before.
Mr. Sumek and the Commission continued with the strategic plan session, discussing topics
listed above.
Mayor James recessed the meeting at 3:03 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at 3:10 p.m., with
all present as before.
Mr. Sumek and the Commission continued with the strategic plan session.
Mr. Sumek noted he would prepare a summary of today's planning session and provide it to the
Commission. There will be a follow-up session with the Commission scheduled in the future.
3. Adi ournment
Mayor James adjourned the meeting at 4:03 p.m.
