HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2021-022 Special Event Application FeesRESOLUTION NO.2021-022 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA ESTABLISHING SPECIAL EVENT APPLICATION FEES FOR EVENTS HELD WITHIN THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the following special event application fees, inclusive of sales tax, are established for events proposed to be conducted within the City, per event: (a) $100.00 for weddings; $150.00 for non-profit organization; $300.00 for all other events. (b) Special events requiring Fire Inspections to be performed outside of normal working hours (after-hours inspections) shall require the use of Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Prevention personnel at the expense of the event holder. It shall be the responsibility of the event holder to contact the Broward Sheriff's Office Dania Beach District Fire Prevention Bureau to determine the fees and coordinate the after-hours inspection requirements. Fees are to be paid prior to the event through the Broward Sheriff's Office. (c) Special events requiring a Fire Rescue Special Detail as determined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction shall be staffed by Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue personnel with appropriate apparatus, personnel, equipment, etc. at the expense of the event holder. It shall be the responsibility of the event holder to contact the Broward Sheriff's Office Dania Beach District Fire Chief to determine the fees and coordinate the detail requirements. Fees are to be paid prior to the event through the Broward Sheriff s Office. (d) Special events requiring a Law Enforcement Detail as determined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction shall be staffed by Broward Sheriffs Office Special Detail personnel with appropriate apparatus, personnel, equipment, etc. at the expense of the event holder. It shall be the responsibility of the event holder to contact the Broward Sheriff's Office Special Detail Unit determine the fees and coordinate the detail requirements. Fees are to be paid prior to the event through the Broward Sheriff's Office. (e) Special events requiring the use of City lifeguards shall require advance payment of the applicable hourly overtime rate, including benefits. (f) Small gatherings such as children's birthday parties at any City park requires payment of a fee of $50.00 for 25 participants or less, and $100.00 for 26 participants or more. (g) A late fee of $150.00 will be assessed for any application that is received by the City thirty (30) days or less before the date (or starting date) of the event. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED on February 23, 2021.
