HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2021-051 Miguel Lopez Jr. Bid Award for Citywide Speed Hump Improvement Project-Phase I (ITB 21-002)RESOLUTION NO.2021-051 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF INVITATION TO BID ("ITB") 21-002 CITYWIDE SPEED HUMP IMPROVEMENT PROJECT — PHASE I TO MIGUEL LOPEZ JR., INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FOURTEEN DOLLARS ($137,014.00); AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission recommended that the Public Services Department (PSD) address the findings of a citywide assessment of speed humps that identified seventy-three (73) of the City's seventy-seven (77) speed humps as non -compliant with current traffic safety standards, and WHEREAS, on September 24, 2020, the City Commission approved Resolution 2020- 108, authorizing the PSD to issue an Invitation to Bid for construction services for the Citywide Speed Hump Improvement Project- Phase I; and WHEREAS, on February 26, 2021, the City received five (5) responses to ITB 2021-002, shown below: 1. Miguel Lopez Jr. Inc. $137,014.00 2. Weekley Asphalt and Paving $159,725.00 3. Florida Blacktop Inc. $223,543.21 4. All County Paving $249,975.00 5. Sagaris Corp. $252,900.00 ; and WHEREAS, the Bid Committee's assessment of the bid packages provided by the respondents resulted in the selection of Miguel Lopez Jr. Inc. as the lowest, most qualified bidder; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes the proper City officials to execute a contract with Miguel Lopez Jr, Inc. for the Citywide Speed Hump Improvement Project- Phase I in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty -Seven Thousand Fourteen Dollars ($137,014.00). Section 3. That funding will be appropriated from Streets Maintenance/Infrastructure other than Building Account No. 001-39-06-541-63-10. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on April 13, 2021.
