HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2021-055 DECOTA Construction Payment for Installation of Lake Perimeter Fence Around Meadowbrook Lake View Condo PropertyRESOLUTION NO.2021-055 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($39,800.00) TO DECOTA CONSTRUCTION INC. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A LAKE PERIMETER FENCE AROUND THE MEADOWBROOK LAKE VIEW CONDOMINIUM PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach and the Meadowbrook Lake View Condominium Association ("MLVC") entered into an Agreement in 2013 in which an easement was provided on the MLVC property to allow the City access to a stormwater pump station in exchange for the City making improvements to the property; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2019-101, the City Commission authorized the scope and pricing for DECOTA Construction Inc., to install a lake perimeter fence on the MLVC property in an amount of Twenty -Four Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($24,900.00); and WHEREAS, the City's scope and quote for the work did not fully meet MLVC's requirements; and WHEREAS, the required modifications involved substantial upgrades to fence materials, features, and length, which increased the cost from the original amount of $24,900.00 to the final cost of Thirty Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($39,800.00); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes the payment to DECOTA Construction Inc. for completion of the lake fence installation in an amount of Thirty -Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($39,800.00); funds are available in the Stormwater Fund Infrastructure Improvement Account 403-38-01-538-63-10, which has a current balance of Three Million Eight Hundred Five Thousand Seventy -Nine Dollars and Fifty Cents ($3,805,079.50). Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on April 021.
