MINUTES
JANUARY 25, 2021
REGULAR WEBEX MEETING
Attorney Pedro Herrera reviewed with the trustees that in accordance
with the Emergency Declarations of Florida, Broward County, as well
as the City of Dania Beach, and based the fact that we the board
have police officers & firefighters and other high risk individuals as
trustees the board has reasonably decided to continue to meet
virtually in order to conduct the business of the pension fund. The
extenuating present circumstances necessitate trustee participation
via electronic media technologies.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rogers at 7:08 PM

6.1 Eric Leventhal-Audited Financial Statement-September 30, 2020
Eric Leventhal of the accounting firm Kabat, Schertzer, De La Torre,
Taraboulos & Co, LLC reviewed with the Board his firms’ report on the
Audited Financial Statements for the Plan for fiscal year ending
September 30, 2020. Eric Leventhal gave a clean or unmodified opinion
on the plan’s financial statements.
MOTION by Richard Tarrant to approve the September 30, 2020 Audited
Financial Statements as prepared by Eric Leventhal of the accounting firm
Kabat, Schertzer, De La Torre, Taraboulos & Co, LLC.

9.1 Attorneys Report
Attorney Pedro Herrera discussed the new State E-Verify Law that was
passed last summer but went into effect for engagements after January
1, 2021. This law requires that any service provider that is engaged by a
public employer which encompasses the Dania Beach pension plan to
comply with the requirements of the E-Verify Portal. The E-Verify Portal
checks an employee’s status by cross referencing data bases such as
social security, INS, Medicare, etc. to make sure they are legal to work in
the United States. This Plan’s Actuary Gabriel, Roeder, Smith &
Company, Attorney Sugarman & Susskind, Accountant – KSKT,
Consultant Dahab & Associates and investment managers are in
compliance with the E-Verify Law starting January 1, 2021.
