HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2021-088 CDBG Year 46 Solar Streetlight Project Authorization to BidRESOLUTION NO.2021-088 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING ADVANCE APPROVAL FROM THE CITY COMMISSION TO PROCEED WITH THE BID ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT YEAR 46 SOLAR STREETLIGHT PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on November 10, 2020, the City of Dania Beach City Commission adopted the Citywide Street Lighting Improvement Plan and authorized the plan as a capital improvement project; and WHEREAS, the use of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds was identified as a funding source to assist in implementing the Citywide Street Lighting Improvement Project; and WHEREAS, on April 28, 2020, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2020- 036, authorizing the City Administration to submit a CDBG Year 46 application for solar streetlights; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes staff to proceed with the CDBG Year 46 Solar Streetlight Project competitive bidding process with One Hundred Seventy -Two Thousand Five Hundred Forty -Nine Dollars ($172,549.00) from CDBG funds administered by the Broward County Department of Housing Finance and Community Redevelopment. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4.
