Home My WebLink AboutR-2021-106 Parks and Recreation Amended Schedule of Fees and ChargesRESOLUTION NO.2021-106 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDED PARKS AND RECREATION SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department (the "Department") staff has evaluated existing recreation fees in order to recommend appropriate revisions for the City Commission to review and approve; and WHEREAS, the Department reviewed the existing fees in comparison with surrounding cities to determine if updates need to be made to the current City fees to remain competitive and to ensure that the City can recoup its expenses in operating park programs and facilities; and WHEREAS, the proposed Amended Fee Schedule (the "Amended Fee Schedule"), is attached as Exhibit "A" and is incorporated by this reference as part of this Resolution, will put the City's fees on a par with the fees charged by surrounding municipalities with comparable facilities and services; and WHEREAS, the proposed amended fee schedule will also assist the City in better recouping its expenses in operating park programs and facilities; and WHEREAS, the Amended Fee Schedule, is reasonable and the City Commission deems it to be in the best interest of the City to adopt the Amended Fee Schedule; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "WHEREAS" clauses are ratified and confirmed as being true and correct, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Commission adopts the Amended Fee Schedule as shown in Exhibit "A", which is attached and made a part of this Resolution by this reference. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on July 13, 2021.
