A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING BROWARD COUNTY METROPOLITAN
PLANNING ORGANIZATION' S ("MPO") COMMITMENT 2045
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN (MTP) AND THE CITY OF
DANIA BEACH PROJECTS IDENTIFIED IN SUCH PLAN; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization ("MPO") in the 2045
Metropolitan Transportation Plan ("MTP") - Affordable and Unfunded Roadway Transportation
Plan Projects List has identified projects within the City of Dania Beach ("City"); and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2019-102 supported the City of Dania Beach's projects
included in the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization's Commitment 2045 MTP; and
WHEREAS, the MPO approved the Commitment 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan
("MTP") Cost Feasible Plan on December 12, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the City supports the MPO's "Complete Streets and other Localized
Initiatives Program ("CSLIP"), and adhering to the federal "Local Agency Program ("LAP"), and
more specifically, the City's MPO project approved for NW 1st Street from Bryan Road to US-
1/SR 5; and
WHEREAS, the City is also obtaining MPO funding for its project along N 22°d
Avenue/SW 12 Avenue from Sheridan Street to Stirling Road; and
WHEREAS, the transportation projects in the City have been identified as a transportation
need and are currently ranked projects in the approved draft 2045 Metropolitan Transportation
Plan Cost Feasible Plan, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A" and is incorporated into this
Resolution by this reference, with other unranked projects included in the "needs and unfunded"
portion of the MTP; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and
residents of the City of Dania Beach to continue to support the projects included in the Broward
MPO's MTP Roadway and CSLIP programs and the programmed projects in the Broward MPO's
2021-2025 Transportation Improvement Program ("TIP");
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and they are made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City continues to support the transportation projects identified in
this Resolution for inclusion with the MPO MTP Cost Feasible Plan, as well as other projects that
should be included in the "needs and unfunded" portion of the Plan, and more specifically, those
projects identified above.
Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized to do all that is necessary and expedient
in order to carry out the aims of this Resolution.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
