HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2006-066 Marina Fund RESOLUTION NO. 2006-066 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROPRIATING THE BUDGET FOR THE DANIA BEACH MARINA FUND; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach acquired the Marina located at 101 North Beach Road, effective March 1, 2006; and WHEREAS, a separate fund known as "Dania Beach Marina Fund" has been established to account for all revenues and expenditures pertaining to the operations of the Marina; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. Exhibit "A", attached to and incorporated by reference into this Resolution is approved and adopted as the budget for Dania Beach Marina Fund for fiscal year 2006. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on April 11, 2006. In order to account for the revenue and expenditures of the Marina, a separate fund has to be established and the Commission has to appropriate the budget for fiscal year 2006. In March 1, 2006, Aragon transferred the Marina back to the City. The City is now responsible for the operations of the Marina. Expenses will include payment to Aragon as indicated on the agreement, FAU share's of net revenue (the City dervie this amount from what FAU received in April 2005), utilities, security, and temporary upgrade of staff functions as a dock master. Revenues are derived from the current rate charged by Aragon based on the assumptions that all slips will be filled at all time. The repairs of the Marina is already approved at the Capital Projects Fund for funding derived from the General Obligation Bond.
