HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2005-158 BV Oil Company RESOLUTION NO. 2005-158 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE DIESEL FUELS FROM BV OIL COMPANY OF FLORIDA, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $90,000.00 IN FISCAL YEAR 05/06, UNDER SOUTHEAST FLORIDA GOVERNMENTAL PURCHASING COOPERATIVE GROUP BID #05-A-120F; WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND WITHOUT ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 0), authorizes the City Manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the City government in amounts in excess of $15,000.00 without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in advance by a resolution adopted by the City Commission and if such purchases are made pursuant to a competitive bid obtained within the last twelve (12) months by other governmental agencies such as the federal government, State of Florida or a Florida county or municipality; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that it is necessary to purchase diesel fuels for City vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that such diesel fuels can be purchased at the least cost to the City from BV Oil Company of Florida, under SOUTHEAST FLORIDA GOVERNMENTAL PURCHASING COOPERATIVE GROUP BID # 05-A-120F, which is valid through May 31, 2006 with a continuation agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the proposal from BV Oil Company of Florida for the purchase by the City of diesel fuels in an amount not to exceed $90,000.00 in Fiscal Year 05/06, under Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group Bid # 05-A-120F, valid through May 31, 2006, a copy of which is attached in substantial form and identified in Exhibit "A", attached, is approved and the City Manager is authorized to pay BV Oil Company of Florida for such fuels from the General, Water, Sewer and Stormwater Budgets for Fiscal Year 2005-06. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED on September 27, 2005. Goren, City Attorney SUBJECT: Diesel Fuel #2 and Biodiesel REQUESTED ACTION: Award Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group Contract STAFF RECOMMENDATION: • Award the contract for Diesel Fuel 42 and Biodiesel through the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group, Bid # 05-A-120F, to the following firms: PRIMARY AWARD: SECONDARY AWARD: BV Oil Company, Items 1, 3 & 4 Port Consolidated, Inc., Item 1 Mansfield Oil Company, Items 5 BV Oil Company, Items 5 Tropic Oil Company, Items 6& 7 Mansfield Oil Company, Items 3 & 4 beginning June 1,2005 for the Diesel Fuel#2,items 1 and 3 thru 5,and July 6,2005 for items 6 and 7 biodiesel, both to terminate on May 31, 2006. The estimated annual expenditure for the City of Coral Springs under this contract is approximately $152,000 for diesel products at current pricing and approximately $38,000 for biodiesel at current pricing.
