HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2005-164 Enviromental Reagents RESOLUTION NO. 2005-164 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SUPPLIES, SERVICES, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS FROM ENVIRONMENTAL REAGENT SERVICE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000.00 IN FISCAL YEAR 05/06, UNDER SOUTHEAST FLORIDA CO-OP PURCHASING GROUP CONTRACT #R-2002-184; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 0), authorizes the City Manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the City government in amounts in excess of $15,000.00 without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in advance by a resolution adopted by the City Commission and if such purchases are made pursuant to a competitive bid obtained within the last twelve (12) months by other governmental agencies such as the federal government, State of Florida or a Florida county or municipality; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that it is necessary to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials from Environmental Reagent Service, for City uses; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that such supplies, services, equipment and materials can be purchased at the least cost to the City from Environmental Reagent Service, under Southeast Florida Co-Op Purchasing Group Contract #R-2002-184, which is valid through August 1, 2006; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the proposal from Environmental Reagent Service for the purchase by the City of supplies, services, equipment and materials in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00 in Fiscal Year 05/06, under Southeast Florida Co-Op Purchasing Group Contract#R-2002-184, valid through August 1, 2006, a copy of which is attached in substantial form and identified in Exhibit "A", is approved and the City Manager is authorized to pay Environmental Reagent Service for such supplies, services, equipment and materials from the Water Budget for the Fiscal Year 2005- 06. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED on November 8, 2005. They e always maintained a good working relationship with our staff and have consistently provided quality work along with providing service outside the normal scope, such as working Saturdays so we can get the Plant back on line without waiting for Monday after a down period. They have and will continue to honor, the pricing of the lowest bid contract they have with other municipalities, currently the City of Davie, as part of the Southeast Florida Co-op Purchasing Group, for our service requirements. This contract was just renewed for a two (2) year period and is now set to expire on August 1, 2006. They also currently provide service to many other municipalities including Cooper City, Coral Springs, Miramar and North Miami Beach. The • contract t6.ini allow for two (2) two (2) year extensions by mutual agreernent'of the parties.. This fetter is sent to express the desire of the Southeast Florida Co-op Purchasing Group to extend the contract for the first two (2) year term. Please advise your position regarding said extension no later than Friday, August 13, 2004. The Town of Davie purchasing procedures do not require Council action on contract extensions. Therefore, a positive response from you regarding the extension is the only correspondence required to extend this agreement through August 1, 2006.
