• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AS
REQUIRED BY THE CITY CHARTER AND SECTION 200.065, FLORIDA
STATUTES, APPROVING THE MILLAGE RATE NECESSARY TO BE
LEVIED FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2004-05; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Florida, and Section 200.065,
Florida Statutes, require that the City Commission shall, by Resolution, adopt an annual budget,
determine the amount of millage necessary to be levied and publish the budget so adopted,
together with a notice stating the time and place where objections thereto will be heard; and
WHEREAS, the annual budget of the City of Dania Beach was tentatively approved and
adopted by the City Commission on September 13, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that in order to produce a sufficient
sum to fund such a budget, it is necessary that a millage rate of 6.39 be levied against ad valorem
valuation of property subject to taxation in the City of Dania Beach; and
WHEREAS, the "rolled back rate" as computed in accordance with the provisions of
Section 200.065(1), Florida Statutes, is 5.8722 mills; and
WHEREAS, said proposed millage is 8.82% more than the "rolled back rate" of 5.8722;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That there is levied upon all taxable property in the City of Dania Beach,
Florida; both real and personal, except property designated as homestead property, in conformity
with the Constitution of the State of Florida and related statutes, a tax of$6.39 per $1,000.00 of
assessed valuation as the general municipal millage for the operating budget for the fiscal year
beginning October 1, 2004, and ending September 30, 2005, for the benefit of the General Fund

of the City of Dania Beach in payment of the budget estimate for the General Fund for such fiscal
year.
Section 2. That such millage rate is 8.82 % more than the "rolled back rate" of 5.8722 as
computed in accordance with the provisions of Section 200.065(1), Florida Statutes.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to transmit and certify to the Broward County,
Florida, Property Appraiser and the Broward County, Florida, Revenue Collector and
Department of Revenue, State of Florida, the amount of taxes levied by this Resolution.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are
repealed to-the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
