A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA DIRECTING
THE CITY ATTORNEY TO SEEK AN OPINION FROM THE FLORIDA
COMMISSION ON ETHICS AS TO THE PROPRIETY OF SERVICE OF A
POLICE AND FIREFIGHTERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM BOARD MEMBER
UPON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES WHILE THE SPOUSE OF SUCH MEMBER
IS EMPLOYED AS THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the City Commission wishes to know if it is legally proper for the City Police
and Firefighter Retirement System to have a member of the Board of Trustees of the System serve on
such Board while his spouse is employed as the administrator of the Board; and
WHEREAS, such an inquiry is best directed to the Florida Commission on Ethics for an
opinion as to the propriety of such service and employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Commission directs the City Attorney to seek an opinion from the
Florida Commission on Ethics as to the propriety of service of a Police and Firefighters' Retirement
System Board member upon the Board of Trustees while the spouse of the member is employed as
the administrator of the System.
Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage
• and adoption.
