It is required by Florida Statute that an actuarial calculation be performed within ninety days from the close of the fiscal year. According to the actuary calculation, the City contributions to the plan will be short by$555,200. The City received a letter from the Florida Department of Insurance indicating that the City is not in compliance and that immediate funding of$197,952 is required for the plan to comply with Florida Statute 112.06. The City budgeted $22,000 for advertising of the election and other election related expenses; however, the cost that the County indicated is $43,100, a short of$21,100. In December, the City Commission has clarified the insurance benefits for the Commissioners under Section 18-2. An additional funding of$13,872 is required to fund the benefits from January 1, 2003 to September 2003. The 803 Police Sub-station is close to completion.
