Home My WebLink AboutR-2003-037 Roller hockey boards RESOLUTION NO. 2003-037 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF ROLLER HOCKEY DASHER BOARDS FROM MCCOURT NORTH CONSTRUCTION GROUP IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $47,500 WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING OR ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS; APPROPRIATING THE FUNDING FROM RECREATION IMPACT FEES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection (J), provides that during unusual conditions or emergencies, the City Commission may, by resolution, authorize the purchase by the City Manager of designated supplies, services, equipment and materials in amounts in excess of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) without competitive bids and without advertisement for bids; and WHEREAS, the City Commission directed staff at its March 12, 2003 Commission meeting to purchase and install roller hockey dasher boards for the season that begins in June, 2003; and WHEREAS, staff has obtained two written quotes from McCourt North Construction Group, and Contract Connection Inc.; and WHEREAS, the quote provided by McCourt North Construction Group is $12,500 less than Contract Connection Inc. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA; Section 1. That the purchase of roller hockey dasher boards in an amount not the exceed $47,500 be purchased from McCourt North Construction Group without a competitive bidding process. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2003-037 Section 2. That the funding of this purchase be appropriated from the Recreation iImpact fees in the General Fund, of which the budget will be increased by $47,500 for the "Miscellaneous Revenues" and Recreation "Building" account.
