HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2003-096 Fire Department loan medical cart to Fort Lauderdale RESOLUTION NO. 2003-096 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE LOAN OF THE FIRE-RESCUE DEPARTMENT MEDICAL CART TO THE CITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE FOR USE DURING THE AIR AND SEA SHOW FESTIVITIES; PROVIDING CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Department has requested the use of the medical cart owned by the City of Dania Beach Fire-Rescue Department during the Air and Sea Show festivities; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Lauderdale has executed an "Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement" and furnished the City of Dania Beach Fire-Rescue Department other documents relating thereto, all of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of Dania Beach hereby authorizes the loan 1 0 of the Fire-Rescue Department's medical cart to the City of Fort Lauderdale, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in the documents attached hereto. Section 2. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. This year,the Air and Sea Show will be held Saturday May 3 through Sunday, May 4. In order to give us ample time to familiarize ourselves and stock the unit before the show, we are requesting that it be made available to us for pick up by our personnel the morning of Thursday,May 1 and returned to you no later than Tuesday, May 6. ® Enclosed is a signed letter of responsibility, a Statement of Self Funding of Liabilities letter from the City of Fort Lauderdale's Risk Management Department and a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement. This • piece of equipment bears the insignia of our department and its use during this well attended event will allow positive exposure. In addition to the foregoing, Ft. Lauderdale Fire-Rescue has loaned the use of its vehicles to Dania Beach Fire-Rescue during times when our equipment was out of service.
