HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2003-147 LAC 75% FLEX UNIT RULE RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 147 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING 75% OF THE FLEX AND RESERVE UNITS IN FLEXIBILITY ZONE 84 TO THE LOCAL ACTIVITY CENTER ("LAC"); PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City has adopted on first reading an amendment to the Future Land Use Element to create the land use classification for "Local Activity Center" ("LAC") and amend the City of Dania Beach Future Land Use Map to.designate on the Map a Local Activity Center as applicable to a portion of the City further identified in Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, the land which is the subject of this amendment is generally located in the downtown area of the City at the intersection of Federal Highway and East Dania Beach Boulevard, and such lands are currently designated for commercial land use on the City's Future Land Use Map; and WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach Planning and Zoning Board, sitting as the Local Planning Agency, held a duly advertised public hearing on January 22, 2003, and determined that the proposed amendment is consistent with the goals and objectives of the City of Dania Beach Comprehensive Plan and recommended approval of the proposed amendment; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dania Beach held a duly noticed public hearing on February 12, 2003, regarding the proposed amendment and determined that the amendment is in the interest of the City's public health, safety and welfare and should be adopted for transmittal to the Florida Department of Community Affairs for its review pursuant to Chapter 163, Florida Statutes; and 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 147 WHEREAS, proposed Local Activity Center is located entirely within a geographic planning area known as Flexibility Zone 84; and WHEREAS, the Broward County Land Use Plan requires 75% of the available flexibility and reserve units be allocated to that portion of the Flexibility Zone 84 located within the proposed Local Activity Center. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That 75% of the available flexibility and reserve units be allocated to that portion of the Flexibility Zone 84 located within the proposed Local Activity Center. Section 2.
