A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA
REQUESTING PARTICIPATION IN THE BROWARD COUNTY'S
COMMUNITY DESIGN GUIDEBOOK DEMONSTRATION PROJECT,-
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Broward County Office of Urban Planning and Redevelopment
is soliciting proposals for three demonstration projects as part of Broward County's
Community Design Guidebook project.
WHEREAS, the Broward County Commission initiated the Guidebook project to
develop, promote and implement design principals to foster a greater sense of place in
Broward County.
WHEREAS, the overall goal of the project is to ensure that development and
redevelopment enhance the distinctive sites and unique character of each city and
municipality within Broward County.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach has met the following criteria:
1) The municipality has completed a community/area character or design
plan;
2) The community/area character or design plan has been approved by
the municipal government;
3) The municipal government/staff has identified regulations to determine
ways the County can assist in implementation of their plan.
4) The municipality is willing to provide detailed information and arrange
for local meeting work with the consultant.
5) The three selected demonstration areas shall be distinct in character
and geographically dispersed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA in support of participating as a demonstration
project for the Broward County's Community Design Guidebook.
Section 1.. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this
resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict.

Section 2. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon
its passage and adoption.
