A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA
AUTHORIZING A RECORDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
CITY WIDE IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE OF FLORIDA,
DIVISION OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES,
BUREAU OF ARCHIVES AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT;
` ESTABLISHING ORGANIZED POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
THROUGH THE CITY CLERK'S DEPARTMENT AS
OUTLINED IN THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH RECORDS
MANAGEMENT HANDBOOK FOR PROFESSIONAL
MAINTENANCE OF ALL CITY RECORDS; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the-State of Florida, Division of Library and Information Services, Bureau of
Archives and Records Management, has established standards and requirements for local
governments to follow for establishing and maintaining a Records Management Program in
accordance with Chapter 1 B-24 and 1 B-26, Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 257, Florida
Statutes, specifically Chapter 257.36(1)(a) and Chapter 119, Forida Statutes, public records.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach desires to address records management issues
within each department so as to establish an organized and professional Records Management
Program to ensure the preservation and proper disposition of all city records as designated in
the State of Florida, General Records Schedules.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to establish a Records
Management Program as outlined in the City of Dania Beach Records Management Program
and to adhere to all legal requirements of the State of Florida, Division of Library and
Information Services, Bureau of Archives and Records Management, as outlined in the
attached backup in substantial form as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. That the City Attorney, City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to
make minor revisions to the procedures outlined in the City of Dania Beach Records
Management Handbook as are deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the City.

Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
