Home My WebLink AboutO-2001-034 ORDINANCE NO. 2001-034 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE; UPDATING THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES BY REPLACING THE TERM "SOUTH FLORIDA BUILDING CODE" WITH THE TERM "FLORIDA BUILDING CODE"; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 553.73, Florida Statutes, a new statewide uniform Florida Building Code must be adopted by local governments statewide; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to ensure consistency with state law by formally adopting the Florida Building Code and updating the City Code of Ordinances by replacing the term "South Florida Building Code" with "Florida Building Code"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the Florida Building Code is adopted, and the City Code of Ordinances is amended by replacing the term "South Florida Building Code", wherever it appears within the Code of Ordinances with the term "Florida Building Code". Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this ordinance are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. That if any section, clause, sentence or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
