A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE
TEMPORARY STAFFING SERVICES FOR THE PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000.00
FROM TEMPORARY LABOR SOURCE, INC., UNDER
CONTRACT WITH TOWN OF DAVIE (BROWARD COUNTY
CO-OP PURCHASING GROUP CONTRACT B 00 105),
WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND WITHOUT
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS,
FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4,
Subsection (J), authorizes the city manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment
and materials for the city government in amounts in excess of $15,000.00 without
competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in
advance by a resolution adopted by the city commission and if such purchases are
made pursuant to a competitive bid obtained within the last twelve (12) months by other
® governmental agencies such as the Federal Government, State of Florida or a Florida
county or municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Acting City Manager has determined that it is necessary to
purchase temporary staffing services for the City of Dania Beach Public Works
Department; and
WHEREAS, the city manager has determined that such purchase can be made at
the least cost to the city by purchasing temporary staffing services from Temporary
Labor Source, Inc. in the amount of $35,000.00, under contract with Town of Davie
(Broward Co-op Purchasing Group Contract B 00 105), a copy of which is attached as
Exhibit "A";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:

Section 1. That the city manager be and he is hereby authorized to pay the total
sum of $35,000.00 from the Utilties/Public Works budget to Temporary Labor Source,
Inc., 3465 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312, for temporary
staffing services needed in the Public Works Department.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon
its passage and adoption.

Dear Patrick:
The current Broward Co-op Purchasing Group contract for Temporary
® Services-Blue Collar Workers is scheduled to expire on October 7,
2000. The contract terms allow for a one year extension by mutual
agreement of the parties.
This letter is sent to express the desire of the Broward Coop
Purchasing Group to extend the contract for an additional year. Please
advise your position regarding said extension no later than Friday, July
28, 2000.
The Town of Davie purchasing procedures do not require Council
action on contract extensions. Thersiore, a posltive response-from you
regarding the extension is the only correspondence required to extend
this agreement through October 7, 2001.

TIME RECORDS AND BILLING

the completion of the day's assignment, the client is asked to sign each time card and

Temporary Labor Source, Inc.payment terms are due upon receipt, unless other
arrangements have been made . An emDlovee working in excess of 40 hours per week

labor staffers. Each employee is interviewed by our personnel counselors who have
extensive backgrounds in human resource management. By working with this diverse
group, Temporary Labor Source can respond to the specific needs of each customer in
almost efficient manner. We utilize the industry's leading evaluation processes which
include comprehensive one-on-one interviews, evaluation, and specialized training to fit
the needs of our clients.
Four--Dour Guarantee
This policy is one of the reasons that Temporary Labor Source is, in fact, unique. We
are well aware that even with our thorough screening and skills evaluation assessments,
our selected temporary staffer may not be suitable to your needs. You should be able to
determine this within the first four hours of working with the Temporary Labor Source
employee , and if things are not working out we will replace the employee with no charge

adhere to our rules and regulations, such as prompt arrival at job assignments, minimal
