HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2001-078 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-078 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE TEMPORARY STAFFING SERVICES FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000.00 FROM TEMPORARY LABOR SOURCE, INC., UNDER CONTRACT WITH TOWN OF DAVIE (BROWARD COUNTY CO-OP PURCHASING GROUP CONTRACT B 00 105), WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND WITHOUT ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection (J), authorizes the city manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the city government in amounts in excess of $15,000.00 without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in advance by a resolution adopted by the city commission and if such purchases are made pursuant to a competitive bid obtained within the last twelve (12) months by other ® governmental agencies such as the Federal Government, State of Florida or a Florida county or municipality; and WHEREAS, the Acting City Manager has determined that it is necessary to purchase temporary staffing services for the City of Dania Beach Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, the city manager has determined that such purchase can be made at the least cost to the city by purchasing temporary staffing services from Temporary Labor Source, Inc. in the amount of $35,000.00, under contract with Town of Davie (Broward Co-op Purchasing Group Contract B 00 105), a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: 1 RESOLUTION NO: 2001-078 Section 1. That the city manager be and he is hereby authorized to pay the total sum of $35,000.00 from the Utilties/Public Works budget to Temporary Labor Source, Inc., 3465 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312, for temporary staffing services needed in the Public Works Department. The contract terms allow for a one year extension by mutual agreement of the parties. This letter is sent to express the desire of the Broward Coop Purchasing Group to extend the contract for an additional year. Please advise your position regarding said extension no later than Friday, July 28, 2000. The Town of Davie purchasing procedures do not require Council action on contract extensions. Thersiore, a posltive response-from you regarding the extension is the only correspondence required to extend this agreement through October 7, 2001.
