Home My WebLink AboutR-2000-040 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-040 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE ONE 15-PASSENGER VAN IN THE AMOUNT OF $21,132.00 FROM DON REID FORD, UNDER FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION & FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES CONTRACT NO. 99-07-0913 WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND WITHOUT ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS; PROVIDING THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection (J), authorizes the city manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the city government in amounts in excess of $15,000.00 without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in • advance by a resolution adopted by the city commission and if such purchases are made pursuant to a competitive bid obtained within the last twelve (12) months by other governmental agencies such as the Federal Government, State of Florida or a Florida county or municipality; and WHEREAS, the city manager has determined that it is necessary to purchase one 2000 Ford E-350 Super Club Wagon, 15-passenger Van in the amount of $21,132.00; and WHEREAS, the city manager has determined that such purchase can be made at the least cost to the city by purchasing said vehicle from Don Reid Ford under Florida Sheriffs Association and Florida Association of Counties Contract Bid No. 99-07-0913, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA- V RESOLUTION NO. 2000-040 Section 1. That the city manager is hereby authorized to pay Don Reid Ford the amount of $21,132.00 for one 2000 Ford E-350 15-passenger van from the General Fund. Section 2. CONDITIONS In addition to equipment specified, vehicle shall be equipped with all standard equip- ment as specified by the manufacturer for this model and shall comply with all EPA Emission Standards and all Motor Vehicle Safety Standards as established by the U.S. Department of Transportation regarding the manufacture of motor vehicles. The successful bidder shall be responsible for delivering vehicles that are properly serviced, clean and in first class operating condition. Pre-delivery service, at a minimum, shall include the following: a. Complete lubrication. _ b. Check all fluid levels to assure proper fill. C. Adjustment of engine to proper operating condition. d. Inflate tires to proper pressure. e. Check to assure proper operation of all accessories, gauges, lights, and me- chanical features. f. Focusing of headlights. g.
