A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO
THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, UNDER THE BUREAU OF
JUSTICE ASSISTANCE'S (BJA) LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK
GRANTS (LLEBG) PROGRAM FOR THE AMOUNT OF $48,681.00 FOR
FISCAL YEAR OCTOBER 1, 2000 THROUGH OCTOBER 1, 2002,
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MATCH THE GRANT
WITH $5,409.00 FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That certain grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau
of Justice Assistance's (BJA) Local Law Enforcement Block Grants (LLEBG) Program in the
amount of Forty-Eight Thousand, Six Hundred Eighty-One Dollars ($48,681.00), in substantial
form as Exhibit "A", attached, is approved.
Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to match the LLEBG grant with Five
Thousand Four Hundred and Nine Dollars ($5,409.00) from the Local Law Enforcement Trust
Fund.
Section 3. That all resolutions in conflict herewith be repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 10'h DAY OF October, 2000.

Staff is requesting permission to submit an application to the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau
of Justice Assistance's(BJA) Local Law Enforcement Block Grants (LLEBG) Program in the
amount of Forty-Eight Thousand, Six Hundred Eighty-One Dollars ($48,681.00). Staff is further
requesting permission to match the LLEBG grant with Five Thousand Four Hundred and Nine
Dollars ($5,409.00) from the Local Law Enforcement Trust Fund. The funds will continue to be
used to supplement the operation of the Dania Beach Center for Success and the Code Team
Program.
