HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2007-077 Purchase from Fisher Scientific company, llc RESOLUTION NO. 2007-077 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SUPPLIES, SERVICES, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS FROM FISHER SCIENTIFIC COMPANY, LLC, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $33,000.00 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006- 2007, WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND WITHOUT ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 0), provides that during unusual conditions or emergencies, the City Commission may, by resolution, authorize the purchase by the City Manager of designated supplies, services, equipment and materials in amounts in excess of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that it is necessary to purchase designated supplies, services, equipment and materials from Fisher Scientific Company, LLC for use by the City of Dania Beach Fire-Rescue Department; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that it is necessary to purchase bunker gear (turnout gear) in an amount not to exceed $18,804.70 for use by the City of Dania Beach Fire-Rescue Department; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that such purchases can be made at a competitive price and with timely delivery from Fisher Scientific Company, LLC; and WHEREAS, as of April, 2007, the City has purchased $12,734.40 in miscellaneous supplies, services, equipment and with the pending purchase of the bunker gear, the City is expected to expend over $33,000.00 by September 30, 2007; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to pay an amount not to exceed $33,000.00 for fiscal year 2006/2007, from the City of Dania Beach Fire-Rescue Department budget to Fisher Scientific Company, LLC, for the purchase of miscellaneous supplies, services, equipment, materials, and bunker gear. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on May 8, 2007.
