A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR A GRANT
RELATED TO THE BROWARD BOATING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
(2007) IN THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $50,000.00, TO PROVIDE
FUNDING FOR THE LIGHTING AT GRIFFIN MARINE PARK;
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE THE
APPLICATION; AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE AND EXECUTION OF
THE GRANT AGREEMENT UPON ITS AWARD, AUTHORIZING THE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE FUNDING UPON
AWARD; AUTHORIZING EXTENSIONS, IF NEEDED; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Broward County Marine Advisory Committee can provide funding for
lighting improvements at the Griffin Marine Park through the Broward Boating Improvement
Program; and
WHEREAS,the Broward Boating Improvement Program Grant does not require a match
for requests that do not exceed $50,000.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That that certain application for the program for the Broward Boating
Improvement Program Grant (2007) for lighting improvements to the Griffin Marine Park to be
submitted by the City of Dania Beach to Broward County Marine Advisory Committee is
approved and the appropriate City officials are authorized to execute it. Further, such officials
are authorized to accept and execute the grant agreement upon its award (and any time
extensions, if deemed necessary).
Section 2. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to the application and agreement as are deemed necessary and proper for the best
interests of the City.
Section 3. That upon execution of the agreement, the Finance Director is authorized
to appropriate the budget by the award amount in grant revenue and the appropriate expenditure
account.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
